Internet access has been less abundant than expected so here we are on Day 3 with our first post from the road. Quick recap:
Day 1: Unexpected delays kept us from reaching Atami, but we made it to a town called Kozu near Odawara and we got to see Kamakura and the Daibutsu (HUGE buddha statue) along the way. We enjoyed a crazy “Pleasure Onsen” which in addition to the Onsen (hot springs) had Restaurants, Pachinko and Game Center and Manga cafe attached.
Day 2: We climed through the mountains and on the way down got invited to a road side BBQ where we met the locals and ate amazing food. We ended up camping on the beach in Fuji City and found another Onsen with indoor and outdoor baths that was recommended by our new friends at the BBQ.
Day 3: Our most efficient day. We are in Omaezaki and I’m about to go hang with some surfers I just met while the rest of the crew gets dinner
